Since mobile phones from many countries do not work in Korea, visitors and newly arrived residents often have to rent a phone for the short term. You can save money on both the rental cost and the phone charges for interpretation services in any of 17 languages on certain SK telephone models
designated as BBB phones.
FREE Short-term Rental
You can obtain a cell phone free-of-charge for a short term rental from SK Telecom if you ask for a BBB phone*. The promotion will run from 1 September to 31 December 2011. Moreover, when you use a BBB phone, all calls you make to the BBB Interpretation Service (1588-6544) will be absolutely free. To take advantage of the promotion, you will have to present the attached BBB discount coupon (also available on the BBB website) at the SK rental desk.
How to Rent a BBB Phone
1. Make an online reservation (http://www.skroaming.com/en/reservation/online.asp)
2. Visit SK Roaming center (with: passport, credit cards and BBB Coupon)
3. Choose one of the 3 SK models that are designated as BBB phones
4. Use your BBB phone (if you have any language difficulties, call BBB interpretation service (free))
5. When you depart Korea, return the BBB phone and pay your phone bill (cash or credit card).

SMS - Text Messaging - Charges
-Some phone types can only receive English text messages.
-Domestic SMS: W100 for each outgoing SMS in Korea
- International SMS: Limited to incoming messages (English)
